Yesterday seemed to be Shakespeare quote day in my session as I was talking about the belief that, in those days, the heart was seen as the centre of romance and emotion rather than the brain.
I was really impressed at how many people could quote the wonderful bard and inspire us with his words of love.

Particularly this one:
Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! It is an ever-fixèd mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth’s unknown, although his height be taken.
Love’s not Time’s fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle’s compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

OK, well if that was all true, and everybody felt love like that, I would have far less work to do.  So instead I’ll turn to my son’s favourite Shakespeare quote from Hamlet act 3 scene 3 (line 87):
Check it if you don’t believe me…

So this is how it goes in our house:
Me: “Please can you clean up your room?”
Son: ” to quote Hamlet act 3, scene 3, line 92… No!”
Me: “can you wash the dishes?”
Son: “to quote Hamlet…”
So, he is really cheeky but I’d like to lend his quote to you.
Just say no!
Besides the fact that you shouldn’t be worrying about pleasing anyone, what I’d like you to think about when saying no, is to allow yourself to disengage from the world that stresses you.
Stop worrying about the external stressors, what people think about you , say about you. Whether they talk to you or they don’t.
Say no to outside interference and do what is right for you.
Someone said to me that they loved their job but they hated the people that they work with, they disliked their manager and they felt frustrated.
But shouldn’t the fact  that they love their job be the most important thing and they should not get distracted by all of the other nonsense?
Yet, most people that see me for work stress are frustrated because they do love their jobs but not their management, colleagues, environment etc.
Just say no to the nonsense!
We have no control over all of that!Today is a good day to start on a good foot by focusing only on what makes you happy and not allowing anybody else’s interference stop you from achieving happiness.
